Joann and Kelly, experts in residential and commercial design, share engaging stories about their design projects, travels, and personal experiences on their podcast Inside Design with Kandrac & Kole, as well as through their popular blog and national speaking engagements. Their passion for interior design extends to their charity work in the U.S. and Guatemala.

Our Team

Joann Kandrac

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Joann is a proud full-blooded Sicilian with a deep love for her heritage. She travels to Italy often and is currently studying to become fluent in the language. A devoted mother of two and grandmother of four, Joann cherishes having her family close by in Charleston.

Before co-founding Kandrac & Kole Interior Design, Joann honed her eye for style as a buyer and merchandiser for a major home décor retailer. Though she describes herself as “home-schooled” in interior design, she believes that hands-on experience is one of the best teachers.

Known for her warm personality, approachable nature, and strong work ethic, Joann lives by the golden rule—treating others the way she would like to be treated.

Lisa toth

Lisa joined Kandrac & Kole in 2015 as a Project Manager to save us from the weeds when we took on a great deal of commercial work.

Lisa grew up in NY with a penchant for horseback riding. Her business acumen took her to Chicago and many other big cities for work before she settled in Georgia in 1989. Once our designs are complete, Lisa handles every detail of every project from ordering to install. Her organization and technical skills keep our operations in tip top shape.

kelly kole

Kelly grew up in Princeton, New Jersey and Long Island, New York, but after attending the University of Richmond, she fell in the love with the South and never left.

After a dozen years climbing the corporate ladder in the multi-family housing industry, Kelly returned to school to start her second career in the interior design space.

She is well known for her bright smile, her never-ending energy and being unapologetic about her authentic self. Married for more than three decades, she is the mother of two independent girls who live on opposite coasts.

When she’s not designing, you’ll find her planning a trip to somewhere she’s never been, in the yoga studio or loving on the nearest animal.

Lynn Scales

Lynn joined Kandrac & Kole after retiring from 40 years of teaching elementary school. It’s not surprising that Lynn is very patient, organized and creative along with having no problem keeping up with our hectic schedule. Growing up in a large family who moved around the U.S. often, Lynn is confident and at ease with all of our clients, contractors and manufacturers. You’ll find Lynn behind the scenes making sure our projects are complete, our office is running in top shape and our clients are happy.
