Come See our Space at the Magnolia Showhouse!

It's hard to believe that the process of designing our space for Atlanta Magazine's Magnolia Showhouse started back in February!  With the help of our amazing sponsors and their donations, our space has been a tremendous success. We are proud of the final result of our Gentleman's Bath and Dressing Room!

Thank you Emily Followill for taking these amazing photographs of our space.

When I look at these photos, I see so many heartfelt details.  The homeowner, Tim Nugent is active military and we were proud to display his uniform on an antique brass valet that Joann found at Woodstock Antiques.  The navy blue was the inspirational kick off for the new Thibaut Ikat navy wallpaper we had been dying to use as well as the navy tile from Crossville Inc. The commissioned art by Dirk Walker and DK Gallery illustrated the famous Coca Cola exterior painting in downtown Cartersville.

One of the reasons we agreed to be a part of this years designer showhouse was because our Kravet rep, Rosemary Cox, was cheerleading for us to join the team. So of course the Kravet fabric and trim on our custom roman shade was also a pivotal selection.

Just to show you that nothing really scares Joann and me, here is what the bathroom looked like the first time we saw it (AFTER we already agreed to take the project on LOL).  It was quite a challenge to even walk into the space considering we could see down to the first floor.  Notice there is a window on the left that we requested be filled in so we could bring our space plan to life.

The closet doors, which are now a highlight of our space, looked this when we walked in:

With some TLC from one of our favorite artisans (and California Closets on the inside), we came up with a plan:

TA DA!!

(P.S.  Joann found that killer doorknob (circa  1878) on Etsy!)

It was such an honor to work with such great Atlanta designers.  The house flows remarkably well and we all work together seamlessly. Many thanks to our designs chairs Beverly Baribault and  Jenny and Eric Rothman for being so instrumental to us.  The general contractor, John Hudson of Great Wood Construction was fantastic to work with and put up with our OCD selves without a sweat!
