Charleston Symphony Orchestra Designer Showhouse 2017

We are proud to be participating in the 40th Annual Charleston Symphony Orchestra Designer Showhouse. Sponsored by Traditional Home Magazine and Charleston Magazine, the house opened this past Thursday and it is a beauty!! Our space is a small gem - the upstairs laundry room right at the top of the stairs and not to be missed!

Once a small closet, the upstairs laundry room has been expanded and transformed to accommodate the family of four who lives in this house. Our inspiration for this design was born from our love of Charleston. The Schumacher wallpaper is reminiscent of the iconic gates of Charleston in a fresh, updated way. The classic black and white backdrop of this space lends itself perfectly to another historical design element of Charleston – the color “Haint” blue. Traditionally used on porch ceilings throughout the South and particularly Charleston, this color is said to protect the house and the occupants from evil. The ceiling and the tile backsplash celebrate this color and it’s positive vibe. A beautiful contrast to the Haint blue ceiling is the black lantern chandelier, another Charleston symbol.

The magnificent circa 1840 Henry Street House is a beautiful Greek Revival structure just a few steps from historic Charleston harbor. Sporting beautiful decorative plaster ceilings, original moldings and fireplaces, gracious rooms and dramatic double piazzas, the house is a stunning platform for award winning local and national designers. WOW! That's us!!!

We were already friends with many of the designers involved but were thrilled to meet the rest!
